We had some beautiful weather this year at Hemans Camp! Mostly sunshine, and temps in the upper 70's and low 80's.
We averaged about 20 children each day for Bible School, ranging in age from about 5 years old to 5th grade.
We made a study of Jonah this year. Joe didn't think we could spend a whole week on Jonah, but we had a couple of days when we about ran out of time!
Each day, we looked at a different aspect of Jonah's story, starting with his call from God, Jonah's disobedience, the big fish taxi God provided to head him in the right direction, and of course the repentance of Ninevah. With help with some songs from Veggie Tales, we took a particular look at compassion and mercy, and why God wanted Jonah to go to Ninevah in the first place!
Visitors! We also had missionary visits each day, expanding the childrens' view of how God wants us to reach out to others. One day we had special guests, Ron and Ida O'Dell. Ida did a chalk drawing for us, and Ron did some cool balloon stuff.
We had some fun games and crafts, lots of music, memory verses, and of course some cool illusions. We were again able to offer a fun movie and face painting in the afternoon.
I took lots of pictures. I've placed a few of them here, but I have a lot more on my Facebook page. If you invite me to be a friend on Facebook, please make sure I know who you are in your invitation!
