There are a number of resources I have found helpful in my grief journey. I have posted links below in the hope they will be a blessing to you also.

Support Groups

Grief Share is a faith based program for people dealing with any kind of grief. The program is 13 weeks, and has wonderful, helpful, inspiring videos and a workbook. I went through the program twice, and recommend this program highly!

Podcasts

Joann the Life Coach has quite a few podcasts that spoke to me, but the one about “Post Traumatic Growth” inspired me.

Videos

Nancy Guthrie is one of the hosts for the GriefShare videos. Here’s a link to a video she made for your friends and family, to help them know what to do and not to do to help you through your grief.

Here is another video for friends and family. It is by Megan Devine who authors the “Refuge in Grief” website.

Web Sites

Widowed Community has a lot of resources for new widows. This is also where I found a LOT of information to help me set up my own support group.

Widows fog is real. This is an article explaining what it is, and some strategies to deal with it.

Sorting out finances is an important and complicated task, and one that is made more difficult when you’re dealing with grief and the perpetual widow’s fog. This website offers free financial coaching for newly bereaved widows.

Soaring Spirits has many different programs for widows, including camps, pen-pals, blogs, and social groups.

Facebook Groups

This is a Facebook group for Christian Widows and Widowers. It is a private group, so anyone not in the group cannot see your posts. It is a caring, supportive group where you can share your struggles and joys.

This Facebook group is also very supportive. It is a secular site if you do not want the spiritual emphasis, and is a private group also.
